this proposal for a museum of gold delves into the intricate interplay between gold, mining, and the profound narratives of colonization and slavery that have shaped the region’s history. Published on YSOA Instagram and ArchiDiaries.com
This project adds a circus theater in front of Circus Circus, a casino hotel at the North end of the Strip in Las Vegas. Published in YSOA's annual journal of student work, Retrospecta 46.
The project is inspired by both the linear spatial layout found at multiple scales in Bangkok and the ubiquitous shared/multipurpose spaces. The meandering lines of life cuddle, clash, and intertwine with one another to foster a strong sense of community and create moments of surprise.
The project serves as a terminal station for air taxis. It is located in front of Chongqing Train Station, taking advantage of the current transportation hub. Four types of air taxis are designed based on the precedents of AirBus and current helicopters.
The project proposes a new building in Tidal Basin in 2120. Apart from collecting and protecting national treasures threatened by sea level rise, the building spotlights two key issues of the country for the following one hundred years: the inclusiveness of the society and the harmony between the humankind and nature.
This is a proposal for a new multifamily construction with “first stop” housing. It is a large development with both shorter-term rental units and longer term LEC group-owned units.
These short term rentals serve what we call “first stop” residents who may be new to Gulfton, Houston, or the US.
The project is located in the neighborhood of Brays Oaks in Houston, Texas. A Shelter ADU is an ADU which not only provides places of residence but also acts as places of refuge to the greater community during extreme weather events.
The building is a cultural center for Bogota, Colombia. The project starts with a matrix of operated cubes where 4 cubes form a object with sunken center, and 4 of these objects form a larger object with open center.
Designed for the annual Buffalo Bayou Regatta event, the boathouse provides storage, repair and practice
spaces for kayak lovers. The meandering Regatta staging is the spine of the building, directing people
from the parking to the bayou with multiple ramps.
Projects before 2017
